First my boyfriend gave me a couple of guinea pigs which I called as salty and spicy. Salty was the male and after a couple of months, he died. I was very sad about it but then after about 2 weeks, spicy had given birth to 2 young female peruvians. I didn't know she was pregnant so it came as a surprise. Unfortunately after about a month or so one of the baby peruvians had suddenly died then after about a week the mother had died. I didn't know why they were dying for no apparent reason. Then the last one had died, this one because of the typhoon and she got really wet. I am so sad that this happened to them but it did came as a shock why they died.

If I don't have 5 mini pincher dog and 4 pups, guinea pigs will be my first choice. You should research on how to take care of guinea pigs so that when they ill you can detect the symptoms and can give them first aid as soon as possible.

Exactly. If you weigh your guinea pigs weekly and do basic health checks, you should be able to notice signs of illness. But the biggest thing is weighing, because guinea pigs will hide any illness. So as soon as you notice something, they need to see a vet right away because waiting is not a good thing for prey animals that hide their symptoms.
