Reiki is a japanese healing technique. In this technique the person giving reiki asks energy from the cosmos and becomes the mediator of the energy. He then places his hands on various chakras on the body and problem areas of the reciever. The energy flows from the body of the giver to the reciever which creates space for the reciever to heal himself. This is quite powerful technique. You need to have a right intent for this. reiki can heal plants, food, water, adults, children, animals, past lives, future lives, habits and addictions. Many reiki masters can teach this technique to the students. In this a series of attunements are given to the student and then he can begin the process of healing himself as well as others. Try it with full intention and it does work.

I actually have my Reiki level one, but I sometimes still don't understand the nature of energy work. How exactly does reiki work? How do we know if we are doing reiki properly? Do you have any advice on this? Do you practice reiki yourself, or is this just an interest? Thanks! ~Wyrdsister

I also have taken level one. I ahve practiced it on a few people. I usually ask people feed back like how do they feel when i am giving reiki to them. most of them uptil now have said that they feel a lot of heat. This shows that energy is flowing and its definitely working. What i think is that we all have energy vortexes ie. chakras near our body. We are surrounded by a electromagnetic field and not only us but all the objects are surrounded by it. This energy is present everywhere. With positive intent and attention we can channelize this energy and just after practicing and believing in it u will start seeing the results soon.
