How Many Times Have You Been Proposed to OR have YOU proposed to for marriage?

Did you marry the first one that asked you or had you been asked so many times and turned so many down that now you are with the waited for all those years??

I turned down the first proposal and accepted the second. Now I have been very happily married for 38 years.

I actually married the 3rd one to ask the first time around. That being said I have been married twice & engaged 7 times.

Once when I was 15 by a 22 year old friend from High School. Again at 16, the person that took me to his Junior Prom. Married at 17 to my childhood sweetheart. Divorced at 22 and two children later... Then engaged at 24, but no go. I broke it off. Then again at 28, but no. Married again at 35, but he passed away suddenly. Now I've be married for 5 years... So how many does that make? Let's see, 7! I guess that's the lucky number for me.
