Losing that scrapbooking bug

Have you ever lost that scrapbooking bug? If so, how did you end up getting it back? I still love scrapbooking, but I haven't touched my scrapbooking for a couple years now. I want to get back in to it, but just don't seem to be wanting to get all my stuff out and once I do...I just look at everything and don't want to do anything on it.

Ha ha!!! I also have the scrapbooking bug! I have so many pictures and supplies that are boxed and in drawers...but I just haven't done any in so long. But I do love doing it because I love the results. Just getting myself to do it....grrrr. So I know exactly what you mean. But I have an idea....what about emailing each other a page as we finish one to offer support? We can encourage each other (meaning all that want to join the circle of scrapbooking) and praise each others jobs. Then seeing other may inspire ourselves into doing a page. :) OK...just a thought. Let me know if anyone wants to do this. Because even though that bug does not seem to want to leave so I can get it down...I just need some motivation. Those pictures are just piling up in 6 different photo boxes, 2 drawers, and several CDs. LOL I am drowning in pics. LOL

That doesn't seem to work too well for me I own a scrapbooking group on yahoo and have it had for several years and since I have fallen out of the scrapbooking wagon, the group has gotten very quiet. There are still a small group of gals that post their work and talk, but I am very quiet now. Maybe after the new year?

I have the same problem. I know one problem I have is I have to move stuff off my scrapbook desk to do anything. I also have to find this or that as it has been moved. So I just don't do it. And another problem I have is I the PERFECT BUG. I don't want to do a page unless it is perfect! And I don't know where to start as I have way to may photos to even guess at how many I have....and how many photos on CD's lets not even get me started. Oh and when everything was organized and I was able to just sit down and do my scrapbooking, I did do a few pages, but really did not have the time to work on it. You might be interested in scrapbooking, but no longer want to be so involved in it or the time it takes to do. Or you might need to just change the hobby up a little....go back to basics!! Isn't that what got you into the hobby in the first place...before all the cool stuff you started buying to do more and more to a page? Get out just the basics...two pieces of paper, a pair of scissors, a picture, a pen, and make a page. Or make a goal one page a month...but schedule it or you won't do it! I have been doing some thinking this past week...I have to decide what is important to me, which hobbies I want to give up, and NOT take on any more hobbies unless I am willing to give up one I am already doing or no longer interested in doing. I have also considered just doing digital/computer scrapbooking, as I have nearly every scrapbook program out there and I also have a few websites I do for my granddaughters so I can just upload scrapbook pages to the sites when they are completed. I also would save money by scrapbooking this way. My other hobbies are mostly all computerized now anyway, and I don't really work on them unless it is the computer end of the hobby. Sometimes our interests change and even though we would rather not admit we have spent all this money on a hobby and are no longer interested in it or not to the degree we once were, sometimes we just have to say the dreaded words...I am no longer interested in scrapbooking. You might be interested in scrapbooking, but no longer want to be so involved in it or the time it takes to do. Or you might need to just change the hobby up a little....go back to basics!! Isn't that what got you into the hobby in the first place...before all the cool stuff you started buying to do more and more to a page? I am completly the same way. I stopped doing it because it was kinda expensive and I never had any pictures. I have been trying to take more pictures to help me get back into it. I was also excited to see all the nice scrapbooking stuff they have at the $1.00 store now. Hubby and I am trying for a baby and I would like to get back into the swing of things beefore then because I will defintly have to make many scrapbooks of the baby.

I lost it....and haven't managed to get it back yet. I have boxes and boxes of pictures that I need to scrapbook, as well as hundreds of photo edited pics on my computer. I just dont feel like I have the patience or the time anymore to do it like I did before! But yet, I still manage to give mylot 4-6 hours a day of my time....lol....

wow you probably just have too much stuff by now. Pick just one event and focus on that until that page is done, then move on like that.

I have been going through the same "scrapbooking bug" myself. I made my husband a scrapbook last year for Christmas and I have been working on my son's scrapbook for a couple of years now. I just can't seem to get into it lately. I keep telling myself that after this holiday, after this wedding, etc. that I will get my scrapbooking stuff back out, but I never do. Maybe after Christmas?

That's what I am hoping. I know it helps in so many ways...and my husband keeps telling me you really need to start scrapbooking again. Its just so hard to pick it back up right now and I just don't know why

scrapbook - i love to save momentos with my boyfriend... and scrapbooking is one good way of keeping them safe.
i never did scrapbooking before. i just have the photos printed then placed them in photo albums. quicker and cheaper that way. but when i met my boyfriend and had taken a lot of pictures of him and of pictures of us together, i started loving to scrapbook. it's more personal. i get to put some special momento of us together... so,i am stuck into it now. i hope you can get back to your passion. it's worth it. i love looking at our scrapbook...

You have probably overwhelmed yourself. I stopped for a week or two (not like that is a long time) however, I just got back into it cause I wanted to make a book for X-mas. Just try to make it fun again.

I wish I could help. I have the wanna be bug. Actually what is holding me back right now is the need to get all my photos scanned. Almost all my photos someone is wanting copies, so I'm scanning them so I can burn them to a disc. After that, I think my creativity will rise to the occasion.
