Does anyone like the books by Gerald Durrell?

I think, he is a splendid writer! My favorites are "The drunken Forest", "The whispering Land", "My Family and other Animals", and his short stories.

Gerald Durrell was the youngest brother of Lawrence Durrell. They are quite different. Gerald Durrell was actually a biologist. He did great job in his zoo saving the endangered species and settling them back to the nature. His books are mostly funny and witty memories about his childhood (there you will meet young Lawrence also), and about his adventures with animals.
