Can get married but not have an alcoholic beverage??

Why is it that at the age of 18 I am allowed to get married, but they don't think I'm old enough to have an alcoholic beverage? This doesn't make any sense to me. What are your thoughts...

i totally agree with you..its bogus!!I think that if your able to vote,get married,and go to war..dang it you should be able to drink as well...i have always thought this way and back in the 70;s here it used to be 19...yea it needs to go down..

well if u love that person than u can change him to a normal one and live happily

I gave you a plus for that because it is a good question with not an easy answer. I think the drinking age AND the driving age should be raised ( so as also with marriage and war) All these things take maturity and experience that can only come with age. Like driving, kids should have a learner's license for at least 2 years before getting on the road alone. War? At least have more time in the military training before you can be made to go. As for drinking and marriage? God, are we ever old enough? :)

Isn't it obvious? Would you really want to hear of a drunk person marrying a woman he met in the bar, then voting for the obviously "wrong" candidate then going to war?
