short absence quickens love, long absense kills it...

well..if it's a long long absence without any news or means of communication, then i will agree that love will gradually fade away...but if both do take the effort to keep in touch regularly ...then i dont think it will be much of an effect.

This is not necessary to happen like that. Being at a long distance not necesarly kills love contrary it can link the two persons more powerful and make them love more. In any cases this might be right, in another cases is not right what you have said, it reduces to individual persons finally. Good luck!
