Learn C++.If you know objected oriented programming then it will be easy to learn java.Class ,members,function overloading,overriding,Calling funstions by value,by reference,polmorphism are important to get some idea about java.

start by converting every c++ program to java.for that you should know the basics of running the program and executing java program.

Try getting java for dummies if you really want to learn java.Because i hate java.It's slow and there is always this coffe cup logo around with your program which annoys me alot.
