Why do people always want to give advice?

People see other people in the same position, and they want to give the advice almost as if to say "Don't do what I did! Do the right thing instead!" They give advice out of their own experience doing the exact opposite, but as we all know, it's easier to say than it is to do, so they do one but not the other.

we are able to give advise to others as we are not emotionally involved in the problems thus can think more clearly. that's why when sometimes when we are stuck in the same problem, we may have to seek advise from others as we cant even think straight.

I always wondered that myself..I think its because people don't know how to solve their own issues but insist on thinking they know about yours..its being nosy in my opinion

i totally disagree with you.you way of thinking is so wrong. people give advice because of many reasons. 1.you told them that you are in problem or you told them you need help. 2.somebody wants you to improve or make you better. 3.you have got problems in you that is visible to everyone. 4.they think you needed one otherwise you are going to get into a probelem. and i gave you this advice because i think you have to change your attitute that people give advice especially because they are more screwed up than you.because i have no problem with my attitude.hope you understood i what i meant to say!
