Does any one have any good tips for me to break my baby from the bottle and her pacifier. She is a year old and she does really well with the cup during the day and she will go all day without her pacifier, but at night she will not go to sleep without her bottle and pacifier. Any one have any suggestions?

For my child breaking the bottle habit came when he turned 2 and we moved him into his own room with his own bed. We told him that he was a big boy now and that big boys like daddy didn't use babas at night. He started having his bedtime milk about 3 hours before bed using a cup and then brushing his teeth with his own toothbrush with daddy and then going to bed. We bought him "big boy" pajamas that he got to pick out (it was a status thing for him) and he never once asked for his baba again.

My children were easy to break of the bottle. When they were about 1 1/2 yrs. old. I asked them one day if we could give their bottles to another baby who needed them. The agreed quickly and they never had one after that. It worked very well with mine but I don't know if it would work with every child. Mine never had pacifiers after age 3 months. I just stopped using it and they seemed to not mind it.

we have the same dilemma. my baby is 2 and he will really cry if i dont give him his bottle and pacifier at night. i guess we just have to wait when they're ready to give it up. or just simply give it up and we must be firm when they start crying at night. although for me i guess ill try again in a few months.
