This photo was taken by my daughter....I just love how it captured so much with so little. Sometimes it is the simple photos that say so much and capture your attention. I also love the way she has to stand to not slip. What do you think of the photo? What draws your attention? Do you think it is too simple? Or does simple speak volumes?

What immediately drew my attention to it was the pattern of shadows which is immediately apparent in the tiny thumbnail. They make a beautifully balanced and dynamic image. If the photo were enlarged to fill a wall, it would draw the eye to it from hundreds of feet away. I think that is a very good criterion by which to judge a good picture!

I think the thing that makes it good is that it is so simple. I like the shoes, and I like how the shawdow makes a 4. Very neat, and very complex all the same.

That is a beautiful picture, because she has captured both the frozen ice and the shadow. It shows balance, even though it is cold ther is warmth in the glow of the sunlight. Nice innocent pic that says a lot.

I don't know. This one is okay to me, but I don't know that it screams out to me either. I like simple pics though...and maybe if we scrap the page and have a story to go with it, it would pull at me more.

Thats a nice picture. I didn't notice the 4 until it was pointed out but I think its pretty neat. Can I ask how old your daughter is? Her balance must be great because if that was me taking the picture, you would be seeing the sky.lol

ha ha I would have to say, we all had a hard time and only the younger children actually landed on their butts. haha It was funny. :) But she is 14 yrs old and I have been into photography longer than her age. So I think this is a good sign that she is larning well. I am very proud!

That picture is adorable! I love it! I know it's simple, but it is sometimes the simplest statements that say so much. A picture is worth a thousand words, remember? :) Thanks for sharing this with us! ~Wyrdsister

The Angle of the feet also creates a nice effect.

I love it Tia. It speaks to me of balance. The sneakered feet standing on stiff leggs, willing them to keep the rest of the body upright.

Me too! :) I love the way her feet are positioned. It really gets across that she is trying her best to stand on the ice. :)

Reminds me of winters up in Michigan. I miss snow, especially this time of year. Fake snow on a palm tree just doesn't cut it at all. Tell her to be careful though. I also remember what happens if you step wrong on that ice. Ouch! It looks like she's enjoying the winter, which is always good.

I really like it, too. I love the shadows and the details like the little ice crystals. How old is your daugher? She has quite an eye for photography.

No offence to your daughter as I think she's a great photograher, This picture just doesn't do anything for me. It's a pair of feet on ice. Wow? All you'd need to do is go to an ice skating ring and you could do the exact same thing. Sorry but feet aren't my thing and just don't intrest me.
