Heavy Sleeper or Light Sleeper?

I was always a very heavy sleeper until I had my son. I think I slept very little for 19 years, but now I am beginning to sleep very hard again. The only thing that wakes me from a sound sleep is the bright shining sun. A tornado could come through and I wouldn't hear it if I am already asleep. Are you a light or hard sleeper?

I am a pretty light sleeper since I had kids. There have been some nights where I was so tired I do not hear anything. My oldest sleep walks so I like to keep an ear open for her. We will have a new baby any day so I am sure I will be sleeping even lighter than normal.

Well it really depends. I woul always wake up to the slightest noise my kids would make as babies. It seems all they would have to do is sneeze and I woul wake up and go check on them. But ironically, my ex husband was a vounteer firefighter when we were married (the father of my babies.) His pager would go off in the middle of the night, but I often times wouldn't wake up to it and it was loud!! I would wake up to a baby noise and rol over to find him gone, and the pager gone too for an emergency in the middle of the night. So I would say to most noises, I sleep right through them. But anythin to do with my kids I am up in seconds.

I was a heavy sleeper, like you, until I had children. Then, a pin could drop and I would wake up. After being divorced and a single mom for a few years, my husband and I got together. He is an unbelievably light sleeper--so much so that he wakes up and takes care of any noises before they have a chance to wake me. I'm now a deep sleeper once again, but one of my kids whispering "Mom" will wake me in an instant.

I fit somewhere in between. I have gone through cycles for many years. It seems difficult to get a real good night's sleep. I thought I was supposed to wake up refreshed in the morning...but it seldom happens. I don't believe in taking pills, so I try different things to get a good night's rest. Lately, I have been doing better, but that is because I am sleeping over 8 hours. I really don't want to sleep longer. Sleep cycles are hard to figure.

After kids became a light sleeper, son also diagnosed with epilepsy at 7 and became a even little sleeper, now that he is 16 and the other child 14 i sleep a little harder but not too hard, maybe someday i will be able to sleep thru the night with out waking up several times because i hear the slightest thing.

Unfortunately, I'm a VERY light sleeper and have been ever since... I'm not sure when. Probably since I was in my teens or so. It's really annoying. Every little sound wakes me up. My sister says the termites in the wall would wake me up. They probably would! It sucks when you live with people who make lots of noise early in the morning. OMG that drives me crazy!!!
