Fresh homemade soups are much better than canned one, because when the soup is homemade you can put tasty things in there that canned soup doesn't have. and the main reason for homemade soup is because it is fresh, eating not fresh food is less health and less tasty than eating a fresh soup.

I agree with what you are saying. The option to put what you want is a major factor.

I LOVE home made soup! I'm not a good cook, but I can cook some Indian food, and have made some Indian soups in the past. Luckily my hubby is a chef, and he often makes lovely, thick, vegetable soup for us. I do have a stock of canned soups in the cupboard for 'lazy moments' though!

Home made tastes better, but canned is much quicker.

I guess the answer may be to cook up a pot full and then freeze it in various containers and nuke it when you want it.It does lose some flavour and health benefits, but would still be better than canned.

I love Tomato Basil Soup and potato soup as home made soups and Cambell's tomato soup for canned soup. I also make a very good home made vegetable soup. I can eat just about any kind of soup.

Potato, Olive And Anchovy Soup Ingredients 2 onions, peeled and chopped 3 tbs extra virgin olive oil 2 lb red-skinned potatoes, well-scrubbed 2 qt water 4 oz black olives, pitted 12-15 anchovy fillets Instructions Soften the onions in 2 tbs of olive oil in a heavy, covered pan. Cut up the potatoes into quarters and boil them in the water until they are just soft. Drain them, reserving the potato water, and cut them up into smallish pieces. Add another tbs of oil to the onions, then add the potatoes. Stir, adding as you do so the olives and the anchovy fillets, and allow the flavours to become well mingled. Add the potato water, bring to the boil and simmer for 5-10 minutes before liquidizing with hand blender. Serve with crusty garlic bread or toast.

I would rather have home made soup, which I make frequently in the winter, but for a quick bowl of soup I will eat canned soup ... but it has to be Campbell's or forget it, LOL.

Fresh homemade soup all the way :):) I like to make different soups and we all enjoy soup in our home. I do keep a few cans of soup in case we need them in an emergency, and we often take canned soup when we go camping, but other than that it's usually homemade soup.

I like home made soups as I can cheat by putting more of my favorite veggies etc in it .We keep extra cans of soup availabe in case friends need some help to make it to their next paycheck but since we could have different tastes,we try to keep the basics on hand for them(vegetable, tomato, chicken noodle).

fresh homemade.most canned soups are either too thin or not seasoned enough for me. some of the chunky soups aren't too bad though.

I like homemade soups as that way we can put in extra of what we like .There are not that many store-bought soups that stand out and I have been eating them for over 40 years with Campbell's Soup being my favorite. But I still would rather have a fresh home made soup on a rainy day.

I prefer homemade. It just tastes better in my opinion than opening a can and dumping it out into a pan to just heat up. I think food that you eat at home, should be cooked slow so that the aroma of the food lingers in the air and tickles your senses while you are waiting for it to be done. Here is my favorite soup recipe. Broccoli Cheese Soup III Submitted by: Pam Zielinski Rated: 4 out of 5 by 120 members Prep Time: 10 Minutes Cook Time: 30 Minutes Ready In: 40 Minutes Yields: 12 servings "Fresh broccoli cooked in chicken broth is combined with a canned cream of celery soup and corn starch mixture and simmered until thick. Cheddar cheese is melted into the soup immediately prior to serving." INGREDIENTS: 4 cups fresh broccoli, cut into bite size pieces 1 1/2 quarts chicken broth 2 cups milk 2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of celery soup 4 tablespoons cornstarch 1/2 cup cold water 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese DIRECTIONS: 1. In a large soup pot, cook broccoli in broth until tender, about 10 minutes. 2. In a medium bowl, mix together milk and condensed celery soup. Blend cornstarch with cold water, then stir into soup mixture. Pour into the pot with the broccoli. Cook over medium heat, stirring steadily until thick and bubbly. Stir in cheese, and simmer, stirring until hot. Do not boil. This recipe appears in the Allrecipes "Tried & True Quick & Easy" cookbook. Buy it online at http://www.shopallrecipes.com/

We do not purchase commercial soups. They have MSG and too many preservatives in them. We always make our own soups from Chicken noodle to veggie soup and beef stews. We love homemade broccoli soup. There are just so many wonderful soups that can be made at home.
