In the last 2 days I have received about 4 or 5 messages here at Mylot from people in my friends group about this great money making businesses, I didn't ask for them, they were just sent, this would be called spam would it not...I won't mention the member names....but please, if you are listed as my friend do not send me crap about sites that I now first hand are scams. For instance, Surf Junky...I swear the first person I see in here that complains about that company not paying them I will hunt you down and twist your ear off..lol
Guys, if you want to send me something about this great business opportunity you have, message me first, asking if I want to receive it, then if I do, send away...for the record...I have been online doing this opportunity stuff for over 8 years...in short I have been burned a lot so don'r be surprised if I haven't already tried what you are offering..if you have a question about a certain program, ask me through the message and I will see if I know...but don't just send the stuff without asking first as this is spam...and I won't even look at it....

Yes I have, but I'm probably a bit harsh and delete those people from my friends list. But I feel they clearly aren't a friend if the sole reason they want me for is to spam me, and have nothing further to do with me other than that.

In the early days I received some of these emails as well, and I consider them to be spam. Those people were deleted from my list of friends, because I am just not interested and find it offensive to get these sort of emails, without first asking if I am interested. It does seem to me that some people are only here to network, get people to join under their referral for other sites etc.
It is also very maddening when they post the details of anothe site in one of my discussions, and don't bother to even respond to the discussion at all. A report and a big negative is what they get from me now.
Now I will get down off my soapbox wildguy, and wish you a very happy day with no spam in your myLot inbox. :)

That's so terrible to hear that myLot has become yet another vehicle for spam. As if anyone ever signs for up anything that they get as spam!!
I have been lucky enough not have gotten spam here *yet*

Well you are not alone. Some members are even very daring to openly post in myLot what they are marketing. Wow, is this site just for that? The opportunity is there, but that should always be controlled as this is more of a social and content site more than anything else. Although some topics could be discussed here like money makng opportunities, Spamming is out of the question. Members should not spam co-members specially openly to all those using this site.

I have only received a couple of offers during my time here, so I rather suspect that you are unfortunate to receive so many.
It does not really bother me as long as the message is sent sincerely and not just an attempt to bombard me with offers. However, I have to agree with you that the message system here was not really designed for that purpose.

I agree with you completely. I have friends here at mylot so I can easily find good discussions, not to receive PM spam. Luckily, it's only happened to me once and I removed that person from my freinds list. I know some people see myLot as only another way to network and market on the Internet, but I, at least, have fun with the discussions here.

I have a decent amount of friends as well, but all it took was 3 of them to hit me with everything they had...if they had read half my posts about scams and spam and all that go with it, they would never have sent me the garbage, one of them even had the nerve to send me 4 differnt messages about 4 different programs, I gave that member the benefit of the doubt and checked the links sent, and the sad part is all 4 programs were scams...ones I had dealings with before and right on the home pages of the sites you could easily see that they were scams, if you know what to look for....The sadder part of this is another member had messaged me 1 week previous, asking for information on 3 sites, I messaged the results back to him/her letting him/her know they were legit scams...they then sent me the links bragging about how good these sites were and I should join and all this and that.

Yes I did! But are they against policy to do such thing?
I don't really mind... I'd just read it and if I have no interest, I'd just delete it.
But you are right, too many of this can really annoy the members.

I can make or break a forum having these members post and messaging the members with spam...not to mention it is against Mylot's rules but also against paypal rules, the processor mylot uses to pay us, if paypal happen to take a glance at mylot and sees these members posting multi level programs and scam sites they can and will pull pay pal off of mylot. Paypal does not endorse any multi level programs whether directly or indirectly.

Lucky for me we have none yet .... only have a couple of friends though so that is good and probably why. These people do make me mad though .... they have wrecked many other forums we have been on .... just by their continual spamming or cheating and the forum loses its funding or whatever ... so they have no money to pay honest members. My partner has been on many of these sites .... and often just before due to be paid has been banned ... had points deducted or the site has gone bust.
so now we only join sites or forums recommended by people we know .... and will prove that they have been paid ... of course that is not a guarantee that we will get paid in future .... but it is a start. The person who referred us here said if they go to a new site then they make just over minimum payout limit .... then wait and see if they get paid before putting any more effort in. Seems like it could be sound advice to me .... if the person doesn't know much about the site or forum that is.
