Good Afternoon All,
I wanted to share with you a poem I wrote "to my ex-husband" about a week prior to me leaving him for good. I wrote the poem to tell him how I felt yet didn't send it to him til after I was gone. It's not the best, but I hope yall are comforted by the fact that you are not alone.
I'm Leaving.....
If ever you wake up
and I am not here
I was given the strength
to no longer fear.
I'm tired of the lies
and other women of course.
The beatings the punching
there's no reason for force.
The marks on my body
may indeed go away
But these pains in my heart
will forever stay.
How can you do this
to someone you love
A wife is to cherish
like heaven above.
A woman wasn't put here
to be ANY man's slave.
Remember your mother
and how your life she gave.
Would you strike your own mother
I bet that you would
For I mothered your children
and you show them that it's good.
I gave you my heart
and you tore it in two
There IS nothing more
that THIS woman will do.
So when you do read this
please be aware
That I'm leaving, NO, I left
For no more scars will I wear!
