The Cate Blanchett /Brad Pitt film 'Babel' has received 7 nominations for the Golden Globes, the awards given by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Among the film's nominations are best dramatic picture, acting nominations for Pitt and others, best director, and best screenplay and musical score. The awards are sometimes a predictor of what films will do well at the Academy Awards. The other nominees for best dramatic picture are "Bobby," "The Departed,""Little Children," and "The Queen." What do you think were the best movies of the year, and why did you like them?

"The Departed" is really good, "Babel" is good. I didn't see "The Queen".

I want to see all of these... I'll probably catch up with them on video in the next month or two.
