Nowadyas, there is a big question- are uniforms in schools/colleges really necessary? Many argue with different reasons such as they are necessary because they show unity whereas many may say that uniforms dont let one show their own personality! so go ahead, and share your views regarding this.

I believe that school uniforms are a good thing. I actually wrote an article on just that topic which you can read here: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/75010/school_uniforms_a_good_thing.html I did have problems at first deciding to put my daughter into a school that required uniforms but now I think they are great. I don't have to worry about what she will wear each day. Her regualr clothes are lasting longer since she is not wearing them to school. She has learned how to show her personality in other more creative ways and with words which is a good thing. She does not get teased at school because of what clothes she wears since everyone is wearing basically the same thing. having the uniform puts her into a professional mode so to speak. basically she knows that her uniform means it is time to be serious and go to work. All in all I believe they are a good thing.

yes they are necessary because to see the child uniformly from child hood days of comunity people is necessary. Some teachers not all but still some will see the child acording to thier dress so this uniform code is best

I do believe they are nessacary and a good thing. My younger two kids wear uniforms to school. I think it helps blend kids in together. Where they don't make fun of other kids because of the clothes they wear. It also helps protect kids easier as well. You are able to see if someone comes among them and does not have the uniform on. All teachers are trequired to wear a certain shirt with the school logo as well.

My son's school recently changed their policy on what clothes were allowed. They are only allowed collared shirts or jewel neck or button down shirts. Jeans with only 4 pockets plus the watch pocket. No carpenter jeans and the waist must not be low raise or mid raise. The shirts can't have any logos or cartoon characters. It isn't a uniform but they took away a lot of fun things that they could wear. But that is ok--it is school, not a fashion show.

In the US many public schools are now switching over to uniforms. These are inexpensive uniforms and they help families who cannot afford them. Everyone looks the same and it is easy to see if there is a stranger on the school grounds - this is especially important in high school for security purposes. There is no picking on other children because their clothes don't have designer lables. They spend more time concentrating on their schoolwork instead of wasting time discussing who is wearing what each day. We have also had cases (before school uniforms) where students were beaten up and robbed for designer jackets, etc., with uniforms no one wants to steal them. The kids can show their individuality in other ways - bookbags, hair styles, etc.

Uniforms were obligatory when I was at school, a very long time ago now. Uniform was an identity, but also a great *leveller*. These days many parents simply cannot afford to spend out on the designer label clothes children demand, and by wearing uniform, this means that all the kids are equal while at school at least. Uniform doesn't restrict personality, they merely give a sense of identity

You can get paid even more if you respond to other people's disscussions with the same answer" I like your disscussion very much. Hope you earn a lot." Remember post this type of response to different discussions not the same disscussion.

yes very much necessary because it shows a sign of discipline. Ofcourse the uniform should be such that it boosts the confidence of the person. Else the group can be viewed as a group of passiveness. With good uniforms that group feels and looks very active and energetic. Good uniform necessarily need not be expensive but hygeinic
