Christmas is soo near! Can you feel it? What does CHRISTMAS means to you? At this generation, Christmas would only mean new clothes, shoes or bags, compulsary gift giving and spending a lot of money on nonsense things. Christmas should be remembering of Jesus' birthday. Finding new ways on how we can let Him enter into our hearts. To make people around us happy by not just giving gifts but giving away love. It's just soo sad that every year, the birth of Jesus Christ is no longer celebrated. Tsk. Tsk. =(

:( yah.. i felt so guilty while i was reading your post... i guess i've just been too busy buying gifts and rushing... i almost forgot the true meaning, and the celebration of Jesus' birthday! i feel so bad... :( thanks for the reminder.. :) but while i was buying things, my only intention was to make my loved-ones happy, and i'd like to make them feel they're really special... i guess it's still part of Jesus' celebration... I'm sure He'll be happy, because my intention was to make other people happy. :) i also gave some thought to the gifts that I bought.. i made sure that those were really the ones that they need... i've also been full of love.. :) haha.. Merry Christmas to you, Ms. Katie! :)

I can feel the excitement all around me, when I take my newty-dog on the beach it's like an expectant feeling from nature coming with the end of the year. My boys are excited and I explained to them about presents and why we give them and about poor starving children who would be happy to just have something to eat. Christmas is a magical time, warm and cosy with carols to sing and the Christmas story to remember and restore our faith. There is always so much hope in case this is the year when the magic begins again. I hope that this year you give and recieve lots of gifts of love so you are not sad!

Well, I would be hypocrite if I say that I don't want to receive gifts. I love gifts and we all LOVE gifts. But to this time, every year, poor people are incredibly increasing and when we think about it, they are the ones who deserve to receive gifts. =)

It don't feel like Christmas to me really yet. I live in central Michigan and we have no snow, so that is really putting a damper on getting in the spirit. On top of that, we have some Christmas vandels that have taken over our area and are destoying peoples decorations. We put them back up after this happends, but it just happends again. Some, actually most people have either not put them back up, or have heard of it happening and take theirs down so that they don't get ruined. So hardly anyone has decorations up. It is sad really that someone has to do this. We do celebrate the birth of Jesus, but being of that religion, we do not celebrate this around Christmas, but everyday. I think that is how it should be.

For this year, we don't have Christmas decorations even Christmas Tree. We don't even play Christmas songs. The weather also doesn't seem fit for the holidays. It is so hot now unlike last year. =)

I can't wait until Christmas! And yes, it's because of the gifts. But not what I'm recieving. It is because I want my family to open the gifts I got for them. Esp my brother this year because I got him and my SIL lots of great gifts for their new baby due in a few months. I don't celebrate the religious aspect of Christmas.

Yes I can feel Christmas drawing near. It's not just the cooling of the weather at night but it's just something in the atmosphere. In our place as Christmas draws near the people start putting up their stall in preparation for selling the fireworks that they make. Christmas for me means a time to get together with the family members in far places. It's a time to celebrate that we were given another year to celebrate being together as one whole family. Most of us don't even have gifts to give to the members of our family, its our presence during that special day that makes our family members happy.

To me the holidays are about family, really. That is why I have started to get happier about Thanksgiving rather than Christmas. Thanksgiving is just about eating and being with your family and not about running around and getting presents and worrying about whether or not you got a good one for people.

Wow, that is a good one. Before I was so oblige to give gifts during Christmas because I thought that's the only way I would make my loved ones happy. But now I realized, gifts can be misplaced, can be forgotten but giving away something that would be reminded forever like forgiving (which I myself can't practice), giving away love and as simple as greeting (that you remember this special person on this occasion) will do. =)

i would say christmas means spending time with family, but my hubby is in the marine corps and we are stationed on the other side of the country, away from all our family that live on the east coast. but i am thankful that ill have my husband home for the holidays this year, rather than in iraq !

Wow, I am happy for you. I believe that spending Christmas away from our family would be really SAD. At this time, every individual spends their Christmas with their loved ones, with those closest to them. =)

It's not the glow you feel when snow appears, It's not the Christmas card you've sent for years, Not the joyful sound when sleigh bells ring, Or the merry songs children sing. The little things you do on Christmas Day Will not bring back the friend you've turned away. So may I suggest the secret of Christmas Is not the things you do at Christmas time, But the little things you do all year through. So This year when you are in the Christmas spirit and you are thankful for what you have and for the people in your life Maybe take some time and help someone who may not be as fortunate as yourself Whether it be to donate a toy..food or money maybe just to help a friend out who is in need I can tell you your heart and spirit will feel good That is what Christmas is all about The giving of ones self and the joy of giving

Wow, Happy Birthday to you, too! But as for me, since my birthday is after Christmas, sometimes they would just give me one gift - both as a Christmas gift and as a Birthday present =( Sad BUT it's OKAY =) Just don't forget that if your blessings are overflowing it is time to share it to somebody who needs it the most. =)

Christmans to me means a day when i'm oblidged to go to church. I am proud of the fact that i don't go to church on sundays despite being a catholic however christman and easter are the only two times i do go. Also because the eveniroment is more joyous and piur than a regular sunday.

Well, that is why when you go to church at Christmas Eve you will notice that eventhough you come 30 minutes earlier the mass, the Church is so FULL and you have no choice but to stand up. In this case, children running around, seatmates blabbing will distruct you and make the mass less sacred and remarkable. =)

For me it's the tradition of going to the midnight service with my family. We hardly ever get together as one big clan throughout the rest of the year. :(

Midnight service? Do you mean starting to go to church religiously from December 16 until the eve of Christmas? Well, like I said, Christmas is the best time to get together. =)
