Does the fashion industry exist mainly to persuade people to spend money on things they do not really need?

I think yes. That's bussiness. In magazines we often find the must have items, ins and outs etc. Well who cares if you are wearing a $1000 skirt?If we follow their rules, then our room would be like clothing store lol. Just follow your own rules, and you'll fine lol

i agree who knows what you are wearing you would look good in a $2000 shirt or you might look stunning with something you might have prepared out of a $200 cloth piece. These people are good at making money. It is the same cloth. A shirt would be $100 and on the smae shirt they will pin up a brand name and the price increases to $800. I know of such centres. This is really not fair. To be frant brand does not matter for me. All that matters is style and comfort.
