This may sound strange but does anyone know why a cat drools. I have one that drools all the time. Just like a darn dog. You pet him and the next thing you know your pant leg or arm is wet. Its gross. Is this normal for a cat? Just checking because I really don't know

I used to have a black and white tuxedo cat that drooled. His two fangs were pretty long and stuck out of his mouth, so he couldn't actually close his "lips." When you pet him, sometimes he would shake his head and spit would fly just like a dog. It was gross, but he was a very cool cat otherwise. lol!

a cat has a gland near its chin that it rubs on you to scent you as a mark of affection. If he is drooling i see one of two causes either its pavlovian and the cat associates petting with food, or it has a blocked gland and therefore needs a vet, hope this helps

I have 2 cats now and had 2 cats growing up and none of them ever drooled like that. It may be a dental problem though, did you call you vet?
