Have you ever gotten really mad in a public place?

I am usually a very quiet and nonconfrontal person. But I do have a fighting spirit, but always know when to fight and when not to. Well, the other day, I went to take my son to the doctor's to get his cast off from a surgery he had 6 weeks ago. When I went to register him in, the front desk told that I needed a referrel # from his primary care doctor. Well, I can't just call and get a referrel # within the next 5-10 minutes, so I said I will call when I get home and give it to you. After about 2 minutes, they wanted to know if I was going to call and I said no. Then they told me that they would not take his cast off without that #. I became really furious. I starting raising my voice, getting louder and louder, until I was yelling at the top of my lungs. And, oh yeah, I did say the f-word. A big, big no-no. I them proceeded out to the hallway, called his primary care doctor's office, and pretended I was a doctor just to get through to speak with someone. Because I was crying so much, they got someone out of there meeting, to give me the #. I then found out that they would have seen him without the #, but I would have been responsible for any fees. Crazy. Now, they will not see my son again, if I don't sign a contract that says that I promise not to yell anymore. The contract is needed because they have had at least one person every week, screaming and cursing at them, and the doctor is loosing business. Hmmm, I wonder why. Don't ask someone to have a referral # at the same time they have an appointment. This wasn't the first time this had happened, so maye that is why I got so mad. I feel really bad and know I will never get like that again. So how many of you have done the same thing?

No, but pretty darn close a couple of times. My frustration usually comes from people driving while on their cellphones and rude people in grocery stores. I haven't had any real problems in the doctor's office yet, but some of those people have really bad attitudes. Sorry to hear you had a rough time.
