Yes, you are right...sticks can be used in a variety of ways on a variety of subjects..regardless of how long or thick they are....

I guess it depends on the type of fire you are trying to light and how hot you want it to get...lol...;)

I believe that if you are trying to light a fire anyway, you should light the biggest one possible and get it as hot as you possibly can...lol. Give your all or none at all. ;)
