does horses respond to your emotions

if you are sad, angry or happy, do you notice any behaviour change in your horse

I think they are far more attuned to our emotional state than most people who are observing us. I know at times when I was sad, I'd go out to the barn and give them a good brushing down. Even the more high strung ones never acted up if I was in a 'down' mood, it was like they sensed it and wanted to behave. There always seems to be a better than good chance too that if I'm upset or angry about something, that they pick up on that as well. People so often think that horses are just animals, but I find that not to be the case, they sense more than we humans give them credit for. I think they sense all of our attitudes: good, bad, or indifferent.
