The first thing I made out of paper was a small boat. I was taught to make one by my cousin. We both made these boats and floated them in the lake near by. It was fun watching your boats "sailing" in the lake in the wind. I thoroughly enjoyed the feeling and ever since I am into origami. Now I make several kinds of boats, planes, birds and other objects. It is a really good hobby to keep you engaged.

yes absolutely.. and there is so much that can be done.. starting from just simple projects you can go on to make more and more complex projects.

Mine should be the bogus Fortune teller. I saw many of my friends doing it and going around for numbers. seems interesting enough to learn and found out what is fun was the messages behind each flap. Paper planes should be my second one.

I think it was a boat. I was shown how to in kindergarten. Later i learned how to make a swan... But i forgot how now. Does anyone know a good site on origami and how to do it (step by step)?

My first paper folding project is also a paper plane... That was when I was in kindergarten classes... In kinder, I also learned how to make polo shirt paper and a swan... I really loved activities like those when I was a child but now that I'm a grown up, I already find it so boring...

My first paper folding project was a cup. It's one of the easiest folds and it's pretty handy when you need a container to put something in. I've learned other folds since then and I still use origami regularly for various projects.
