weight training question

I recently started weight training and I am doing it every other day. Today I should do it and my muscles are still slightly sore from last time - is that normal? Should I be using lighter weights? Should I just use lighter wieghts this time? The muscle that is of most concern is my biceps they are sore - thanks in advance for your helpful input.
