Do you enjoy playing old computer games?I especially like playing old adventures like the Monkey Island or Simon the Sorcerer series. With regard to this i found in ScummVM (a virtual machine for Scumm based and similar games) the perfect software to get those old games working.
Another good software i found is DosBox, an emulator of the DOS system which is capable of running a lot of old games with good compatibility (and at the right speed:P).
With that, now i can finally play Settlers and Transport Tycoon on modern systems.

Are these games free? If so can they be downloaded?
What website?

No, they aren't. But perhaps some of the games mentioned are abandonware (games no longer supported by developers) and you can downlad them somewhere.
By the way...all the LucasArts adventures and AOE are NOT abandon

The only old games I play are the Baldures Gate series and NeverWinter. I don't play the other older games I have because XP won't support them. Is there any way to play Windows 95 games on XP?

I love old computer games, i've trying to find "threshold" in the internet but of no success. I was playing this game during the 80's but unfortunately i could'nt find it. I remember a lot of games I was playing during my younger years but some of them I just don't remember the titles. Is there anyone who can help me find old computer games. I'm so happy for you that you can play the old games that you want, it's kinda frustrating when you remember the games but could'nt find it again.

Not all games listed there are really abandonware but many of them are.

I like to play tetris, over and over again, but it is difficult to find a nice one. I tried more than hundreds of tetris games the last months. And some years ago I played a game, called " hot spot". I liked it very much but I cannot find this game anymore on the internet. Maybe someone knows??? It was a kind of board game.

Yes, it's the best series i've ever played. The sword/insult duel of the first chapter is the funniest idea ever seen in a game :P

yeah! of course i play and enjoy with old computer game!!
My favourite is the dig.... what!??! what is the dig?!
The Dig is a graphical adventure game developed by LucasArts and released in 1995, and a novel based on the game written by Alan Dean Foster. It was the 11th game to use the SCUMM game engine, and is famous for its connection to Steven Spielberg, and notorious for its prolonged production, that had the game bordering on vaporware. It is the most serious LucasArts adventure game, containing no slapstick, and relatively little subtle humor, an element found abundantly in all other LucasArts adventure titles. It is also the only one to perfectly fit into the science fiction genre.

Another good one, very different from the other lucas' adventures. The only problem for me was that the local dubbing wasn't so good and ruined it -_-
