How could he think that?

There was a news story on our local channel about a boy who was robbing stores. My husband woke me up to ask me about some of the clothes his son owns. He seemed really worried. The clothes match what the robberkid was wearing. He really thought it could be his kid! The boy has been in trouble with the law before, but not recently. I watched the news story when it ran again. I have to admit that the boy looked like my stepson, until he turned around. This boy was clean shaven and our boy has that abominable chin fuzz. How could anyone think their own son did that?

If your son has been in trouble with the police in the past, then it is probably normal to assume that he might somehow be involved. I would think this was a very hard call for your husband to make, and shows that he has complete trust in you. Sometimes parents do need to take a close look at their children, because they aren't perfect and it is better to face the truth than try to cover it up or live with a lie. I am pleased that it wasn't your son who was involved but be thankful that your husband cares enough about both you and his son.

i guess if his son has been in trouble before he was just fearing the worst to prepare himself if it were true. maybe his son's previous trouble has left him uneasy about trusting him?
