tea at the last chai shop near the indian border

the last chai shop in india - 5 km from badri, at the mana village, we cam across the last tea stall this site of the indian border.. after this, there be no tea till you reach nepal, which is another 10 km away.. amazing experience

there is a particular tea-shop that i would like to recommend to all who plan on trekking through the himalayas.. a bit out of the way as far as recommendations go, but the whole idea of visiting the last tea stall on your motherland's soil (india) before trekking down 10 kilometers and reach another nation (nepal) is truly and other-worldly experience... one the menu: chai (tea) lemon-grass/tangy chai coffee maggi (india's favorite brand of noodles) fruit chocolates

oh i'm really jealous now :( i love little tea shops with snacks. here we have a lot (as you maybe saw in another post i made to your chinese food discussion), since i'm living in a kind of asia-town. so bubble-tea and tea houses are really popular. i even worked in one, and displayed my art in another one ;) i bought one of my favorite teas there, maybe you know that...called 'jungpana'. normally i prefer green teas, but this black tea is SO nice i had to buy some for home. does the tea shop you mentioned allow 'take-out'? i mean, to buy the loose tea in a larger quantity to enjoy from home at your convenience?

pleasure to exchange ideas with you, rather than reading one-liners, yup you're right ;) i didn't kill anybody with tea lol. actually the job was nice because i could drink as much tea as i wanted while working. and they had soooooo many kinds to try! when i would walk into the shop, my boss would have already prepared a community pot for all of us working in the kitchen! unfortunately the store closed a fw months after i left! so i was lucky to discover the second shop in another area of town, because though they are less well-known, they have many choices of teas, and slightly cheaper prices than the place i used to work at :)

oh you can take tea home, but it really is so very difficult to get water to boil, if you live up in the mountains.. gawd.. i remember this one time we were soooo hungry, and the rice took like, 4 hours to cook!! and about the other post.. me's read that and replied :-) finally someone who posts more than just "i like it" and "i want to see" .. me much likes, and me's much curious about your cooking skills too? how'd the tea adventure go? did you kill too many people with the tea? :p
