I found this website one day that had tons of recipes. This was pretty interesting. It said to do all your shopping for a whole month. Get all your ingredients together and cook 30 meals all in one day. Then you freeze them all and you have a months worth of meals that you just have to pop in the oven and heat up. I did this 2 months in a row. I found the shopping part the hardest to do especially the meat! But since then we've been purchasing our meat straight from a local farmer & so we have large amounts and I never have to buy meat at the grocery store. Anyways, I gave it up after a couple of months, not sure why but I'd like to get back into it. Has anyone tried it? Does anyone have any good recipes that they've tried and really like for freezer cooking?

What a great idea. The only thing I do like that is beef stroganoff. I cook the potatoes on the day of the meal though and all up it only takes 15 minutes for the meal to be ready. I am very interested in the responses. Thankyou for a wonderful topic.

The beef stroganoff sounds good! We should post recipes too but I think we have to start a new discussion. Thanks!

I've done freezer/batch/OAMC/mega cooking off and on for about 16 years now. It's a great way to save time and money. Even if you don't have time or freezer space to do a lot of cooking at once, just making two meat loaves rather than one or three pans of lasagna rather than one, saves time and money, especially if the ingredients were all purchased on sale!

I have a hard enough time deciding what to make dinner each night let alone trying to plan for an entire month. While I'm sure it would make meal preparation easier in the long run, I just don't think it would be worth the frustration of planning, shopping and preparing for 30 days within 1 or 2 days. Maybe week by week would work. Hmmmmm, now you have me thinking about trying that!
