I think this is one of the most amazing movies one could see. It is so good that it can make you feel many different emotions...fear, shock, sad, happy, cry... Some also call it the WalMart Baby movie. What did you like the most about this movie?

Where the Heart Is is a great movie! I have loved this movie from the first time that I saw it. What is not to love? Natalie Portman... Brillient, her portray of Novelee is wonderful. This is my first movie where I saw Natalie, what a wonderful actress. Stockard Channing as sister, I love the part where she and her "husband" are talking about the table... ha ha And last but not least Ashely Judd!! She does a great job in this movie. How many kids did she have in this movie? Was it some crazy number like seven? This is a great movie and I would recommend it to any one!

Lexie & Novalee - Ashely Judd (as Lexie) & Natalie Portman (as Novalee) in "Where the Heart Is"
I love it too!! For all the reasons you said and more. I love the speech that Novalee says to Lexie about what to tell her children about the abuse/ abuser when they asked why it happened. And I just love the names in the movie! I love Americus. Some of it: "You tell them that our lives can change with every breath we take... and to hold on like hell to what they've got: each other, and a mother who would die for them and almost did... You tell them we've all got bad in us, but we've got goodness too. And the only thing worth living for is the good. And that's why we've got to make sure we pass it on."

Your very right. Those were some very touching words! The movie had a huge impact on so many different levels. I thought it was funny how Lexie would name all her kids after snack foods. LOL I agree with you though, that movie did have some pretty great names in it! Although, I wouldn't name my child Americus. LOL

The movie was filled with different emotions and that is why I think that I liked it! If a movie can make some one feel all of those emotions in one movie......its must be great!!!

I love this movie!!! I even own my own dvd copy of it. I love how even though her life starts out in the dumps, and because of a good friend that came along and choose to walk beside her in life, she was able to pull herself back together and make something of herself and life for her and her daughter. It is such a good movie. I still cry at parts of it even though I have seen it about a million times!

I don't think this is an amazing movie, but it's just so good that I watch it over & over whenever I catch it on the tv. What I love about this movie is that it shows so many different relationships. You see the bad relationships, you see the really good ones. I love it for that.
