I support 'reservations'. 1.One thing you (higher caste) should accept, future of India is not hanging behind brilliants, but behind 80% of less qualified population. 2.If you arque for 'merit' to rule the nation, i ask you, if this is the case, why did they fought for freedom. If the merits have to rule a country, the people should not have driven away the British. Becz they were more educated than any indians. 3. You (higher caste) created the caste and classes. Catogrically denied eduction and employment to some sectors. Once the country was freed from British what should be our prime job? Educating the suppressed or supporting the 'merit' traqulas? Real looters. 4. Treating equaly the unequal people is a sin. You want to steal their money in terms of merit, education and jobs? They need justice. This amendment from central govt should have come many many years before. Thanks to Arjun singh.

Do you think britishers are more intelligent than Indians. And believe it is nowwhere in Vedas that there should be any discrimination on the basis of caste. The caste system became very rigid with muslims invasion of India. Chankya made a shudra Chandragupta Morya, king of India. If the Hindu were discriminating on the basis of caste, how could be we call the Ravana who is Devil, a good Brahmana, very intelligent. And Mr. Arjun Singh is doing this just to annoy the prime Minister of India. He doesn't have anything to do with upliftment of SC. He is just looking after his vote bank. The real basis of quota should be economic status.

What vote bank? Do you think, it is not true, several castes were suppressed by the higher castes for thousands of years. If so how it happened, all are educated in one community only. It is difficult to find an engineer, or doctor from the other communities. The innocent people don't even know their rights to claim. Let them be given justice for some extent. It is their money, their country. I wont say wrong if someone claims seats allocation in terms of ' population wise ratio'. The people money is being robbed by just 10% or less of a well developed caste. What for? Only to settle their life in US or Canada. Brilliancy is something you can buy to your children, If you spend more you can put your children in good English medium and they too will be fine in future. Let us give them a lift.

I think you are following the leftist historian viewpoint. Belive the caste system before the mughals was not rigid, as it is today. If they are denied basic rights how could Rishi Valmiki who was from lower caste could have given a chance to write ramayana. How could chandragupta Mourya could become a king when he was from lower caste. the caste was exploited by muslims and british to suit their own agenda of dividing the Hindus on the basis of caste. Now our politican are doint this. Do think even the creamy layer should get the benefit of reservation?

Anything to create equal support for one another is a good thing. There's some very good points.

The suppression was done by the higher community only on castes basis. That is the reason why you could not find a single person who is uneducated in a particular community. That is how today's higher castes grew. When give a jump start to a lower caste family, the following generations will catch up the hints how to live.

reservation must b dre...but it should b given to meritious students...there is no meaning in givin a seat in iits and medical courses to people who cant follow it..it will result only in bringing down the reputation of such institutions.....give it to those who deserves it...not 2 those who desire it

Quota to go only on giving the seats only. But they too have to score pass marks as per college rules. No exemption.

Reservations should be there for backward in social life and backward economically..Here one point i never understand.. 1]The first generation got benefits of resevation immeadiatly reservations cane into force.Later their children grown and bnefited the right.o.k. 2]After 1,2 decades have you observe or not generations belongs to those who benefited in initial stages of reservation came into force. 3]Reservation is for what they thought-the people who are socially neglected years together and don't have facilities ti study. 4]But now ,can new generation who till not benefited by reservation can compete with a generation benefited previously as professionals,IAS,IPS... 4]SO THINK A NEW POLICY LIKE CREAMY LAYER OR ANOTHER GOOD LAW- BENEFITED TO REALLY BACKWARD PEOPLE.ex; IN 1960'S SUPPOSE A PERSON BENEFITED AND SELECTED as IAS now his generation is dominating in getting benefits of reservation again the person residing in hut remaining as same. Any reservations must reach EVERY BODY ,not some people in the same people.

to be considered equal....they should be treated equal...if reservation exists it obiviously is showing preference...and makes them feel less priveleged..

If brilliants have been given oppurtunitie they are not going to leave their country.Nobody wants to leave their country.Because of lack of oppurtunities result of reservation they are moving out. Indians are not fools. In most of the country they are the topper.dont think British are the wiser. No higher caste person is denying education to the backward.Come to the present world.dont talk about 50 years back. The question is wheather reservation is necessary at present.that too extra 27% Why don't you give 100% as reservation?there is a law which insists that the reservation should not exceed 50%.But these politicians for mere votes they are doing like this. One day or the other they will feel for it and that time it will be vain

What a noble cause !! Get real dude. Do you think that the son of a minister or businessman with huge income who is an OBC should get admission in a premier institution just because his forefathers were subjected to exploitaion ? Similarly, a person of ahigher caste may not be in afinancial position to provide education to his children? What the F*UCK did that man do to be discriminated against?

i dont agree with u here... i hv seen ppl who get all fake certificates made and take admission into degree courses.. u can provide them with means to study wh in school but cant help them diractly put up into degree course.. its spoon feeding... amny of them dont study further and thus the seat gets wasted... caste system has nevr helped the ppor ppl still... teh backward dont get advantage of it but its ppl who have got fake cert with them who are benefited... i hv seen many ppl on reserved seat haivng much better std of living thn middle class ppl.. by the quota its only middle class which is affected... higher classs can always but seats by big donations and lower class are least bothered abt it as they are busy searching for basci necessities
