Have you seen the Lippizzaner Stallions performance?

There are only 3000 of these wonderful animals in the world now and they still perform the stunts that were originally bred for an Austrian King.

I have seen them perform a couple of times here in town, but its been many many years ago. They were so gorgeous. It's an absolute horse lovers dream watching them perform their intricate moves that they make look so effortless. It's amazing to think that they have such specialized training because they truly do make it look like they are just behaving naturally. I've seen them on television too. I've also seen the movie that Walt Disney put out years ago "The Miracle of the White Stallions." It's an awesome movie about the breed and the war and the saving of the horses, they also have a performance in the movie. It's well worth looking it up to see if you get a chance. They have it available for sale at amazon.com.

I forgot to mention one of my favorite books about the Lipizzan stallions. It's White Stallion of Lipizza by Marguerite Henry and illustrated by Wesley Dennis. It's great reading and the illustrations are excellent. If you haven't seen it, I just uploaded a picture of the book to my profile page in my photos. So you can check that out if you want. The book is out of print but you can get a copy pretty cheap on the internet from some of the book places like bookfinder.com.

I have always wanted to see these wonderful horses perform. I hope to one day be able to do this. My husband has expressed interest too. They often perform nearby, but still it is a drive to get there.

They have appeared within about 1 hour of me and hopefully if they do again, I too will see them I hope!!

I love them. I have seen them perform a few times in Florida at the dinner entertainment resturants. They are beautiful and very smart. It is a show one can see over and over and never get tired of.
