We only have 32 for our entire life, so if you extract even one, you will feel it. I think you better go for a root canal, (if you have not done anything this far cos this discussion is 4 months old). If you have done something, dont feel bad. I just wanted to tell you that you have to look after your teeth cos your teeth is extremely important and if not, via decayed teeth, you tend to get a lot of other sicknesses. So be careful.

The trend is to save the tooth and conservative treatment is the treatment choice today. A Dentist today will try to save your natural teeth for as long as he practically can. Nothing beats the goodness and functionality of a natural tooth. Root Canal is the way to go today unless your tooth is so badly broken down that is cannot be saved at all. And who says its painful? Done appropriately with profound anesthesia, its nothing more than a slight discomfort which you can very well bear. Finally, Dentist's advice is the best advice. Trust your Dentist.

Either way it's still painful but there is anesthesia to unfeel the pain. I think, the dentist suggestion is maybe the better. He knows best what is good for his patient.
