Anybody have any recipes for venison they'd care to share? My favorite ways to eat venison are as steak(pounded, floured/spiced, and fried in butter), chili, stew, or sloppy joe(browned burger cooked with brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, and spices).

My soon to be mother-in-law makes canned deer meat. It is really really good actually. We use it in stew, gravies, we mix it with noodles, heat it up and pour it over toast or bread. I personally love deer "bits". I fry them in butter add a diced onion some mushrooms and green peppers and let them cook down and soften then pour so Italian dressing over it all. Cover it and let the dressing cook down to a thick consistancy. IT is really very good and very very easy to make. We grew up on deer meat. Almost everyone I know hunts or has been hunting at one point or another. I remember one winter when I was about 11 that was the only meat we had all season. My mom can do some amazing things to a meat that is naturally tough. I've had it all and I loved every bite. Happy Mylotting folks!
