As Matt mentioned we are due for an ice age. and he stated that he thinks global warming is slowing it down. in my oppionion global warming is probably speeding it up. with the polar caps melting down quicker due to global warming it cools the oceans down and the ice age starts by the polar ice caps freezing back up. He is right though it is and endless cycle and it might be slowed down or increased frequency due to global warming. global warming is the only part that is not natural and is man-made

we probably are due for one i would not be suprised. the way we are messing up with global warming. People are going to be the cause of the mass extinction for the world.

It is true that we are just about 'due' for an ice age. They have been occuring every 12000 years or so for many millions of years. It will not be the end of the world though, but a real challenge to mankind. We are the dominant species in this 'ice age interlude', who knows what crazy and exiting creatures will be around after the next one!! :D Isnt it exiting!! lol. However, we have changed the systeml, due to global warming which is actually delaying the next iceage.

I think your friend has been watching too many movies. We are nowhere near a new ice age. And even if we were it would take decades to happen.
