Hi all I have recently started a business of my own a few months ago (the day I finished school) and I would like to know if any of you have also gone through this experiance.... By the way, I started a web hosting business ;) I started it because I have been involved with web development for nearly 10 years and have been designing websites for customers since I was only 11 years old. I moved onto server management / administration when I was 15 and from then on I knew that this was the future for me. Not only is starting a business extremely nerve-wrecking, but it teaches you skills that absolutely no business course could ever teach you. It forces you to appreciate other businesses and the amount of effort it takes to start one. I recently got my first handful of customers and I cannot begin to describe the feeling of happiness you feel when you get your very first customer. I would like to know if any of you have also started a business or own any interesting businesses? Best wishes RavenServers Admin

Right now I am currently in school, so starting a business is really hard when I don't have enough time to keep a regular job, school, homework, and what ever social life I may have going. When I finish high school I would like to start my own shop for art supplies. I really have no idea how to even begin, but it's a dream. I've got a year or two left to figure it out, and I don't have to start now. Then there is still university and such. It's very encouraging to see someone start their own business at a young age though. I hope I can manage the same soon. Congrats on your customers. I believe I've heard of your service before =)

Yes, I must admit though: For maybe 4 months I really didn't have any time for social activies. Luckily it was in my final year, so many of my peers were studying anyway. I too also had a part time job (In a video store, lol). If I were to make a recommendation, I would say keep thinking that when it is complete, you WILL have time for social activies. I spent over 8 months planning my business and as I said, the last 4 were crunch months that stole a lot of my time. Nowadays, I wait for my business to break-even and run into the profits so I can leave my casual job. I am due to start studying in February again as my tertiary, so I hope to at least break een by then. You will realise the rewards of running a business soon enough. You get so much more respect and you develop a sense of independance. NEVER GIVE UP, GOOD LUCK!
