If energy can neither be created nor be destroyed why do we always say SAVE ENER

Nice statement but the energy that is being refered to is not really the energy at all but the source of the energy. Save doesn;t literally mean save because to save it you would have to have had it first, but instead save means to not use it. Conserve it.
