I know AVG is the best, but my free version is over after 30 days of trial. There's no permanent shield anymore, althougt I ran a scan every day with AVG, because that still works. But I need a permanent shield, wich one can I use? Can I download for free? I tried CA but there are some files left on my PC of nortonantivirus 2002 and I can't remove them. So as result a conflict with CA-antivirus. Any solutions?

Start using the AVG free version perhaps and supplement your defense with some other fine free programs. You can find AVG free at http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/ Here is another fine antivirus program http://www.avast.com/ You can get a free firewall at http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/company/products/znalm/freeDownload.jsp Good luck

I use Panda Platinum, but I talk about it with my friends and all suggest me Kapersky.

I have a free antivirsu on my pc. I was using Norton few months ago but I changed and I am quite happy about the new one. First of all free (and that's good), second it is working well, it is updating regularly and scanning when the pc need. I think can be a problem for the big antivirus company if the free antivirus will improve. The market is big but free is big tentation. Search on the net for ANTIVIR!

You may try Avast free edition. It requires to you to register once a year. But you see, AVG is also a good anti-virus program. But if you want to really let it go, go for Avast.
