Never ceases to amaze me...

Gotta say I love the culture, there are quite a few stories you can pick up. A guy welding, but he's not wearing a welders mask, not wearing any welding gloves, and he has the welding equipment plugged directly into an outlet, but it doesn't have a plug on the end, just 2 bare wires... They must not have a healthy concept of danger here.. Then again, the power company sends their guys out to fix the wires, they don't cut off the power, and they are leaning on the wires on STEEL ladders.... Then there's the interesting thing of them having those nicely built crosswalks thast go over the busy highways, but they elect to walk in front of traffic instead of taking the extra 30 seconds to climb the stairs and cross safely... And then there's the canopy tours... Those are a deathtrap waiting to happen, you fly about 50 meters over the forest floor, and at one point, you go over a lagoon (volcanic) but the wire gets really lax, so you can almost drasg you're feet in the water below.. Now, me being non swimmer scares the crap outta me.. Not to mention the fact that if the wire got too lax, it would drag you under as well.. But that's also the charm of this place, you can do a lot of things that aren't permitted in North America because they were deemed unsafe.
