I played only one game of this genre: The Suffering, i never finished it, i`ve got stuck in a level. It`s a very good game in my opinion, has great sound, great graphics and a good story.
I don`t suggest playing it at 3 in the morning, with the lights off, with headphones... my mother SCARED THE HELL OUT OF ME when she came from behind and put her hand on my shoulder, she wanted to ask me when i was going to go bed :D.

I have played the Suffering as well , both the parts . And have put an end to both of them . It is a good game 2 ..

I really love scary games. I've played all of the Resident Evils and Silent Hills. My favs are R.E 4 and S.H 2. I also like The Suffering. I can't wait until the new Resident Evils and Silent Hill 5 come out. I wonder how Silent Hill Origins is going to do.

I bet if I had a psp, Silent Hill would be the only game I buy for it. There is a game called Hotel Dusk:Room 215 and the box art reminds me of silent hill.

Origins look fantastic I can wait to put my PSP to some good use...
The trailer looks awesome and the music is terrifying.. YAHOOOOOOO..

I also love playing survival horror games. I'm currently playing Resident Evil 4 in my Playstation 2 and so far so good. I really liked the gameplay. I also love Silent Hill especially the first one, it' was really scary and I had goose bumps while playing.
I recommend Rule of Rose which is a psychological horror. Maybe you'll also like Fatal Frame. This one is scary as well, you don't have any weapons except a camera. You will be killing the ghost using a special type of camera that will be provided to you.

I watched my brother play Fatal Frame and I thought it was freaky. There is this part where you see someone playing music behind a paper wall. The music is off key and then the girl vanishes,you'd have to see it to understand. I think there is 3 of those games now. I also want to play Rule of Rose and have you guys heard of Haunting Ground? I think that looks cool. Also those Resident Evil Outbreak games,even if they aren't that good.

I am playing rule of rose now. (well when I can keep my hands off guitar hero 1 & 2)
anyhoo I like it but it is a bit slow the story line seems to be going somewhere and lots of puzzle solving the good kind where you cant move on unless you've found specific items.
I have not heard of haunting ground. You have me curious what is it about? Do tell.

If you havent played Fatal Frame 2 and 3 you DONT KNOW what a Horror Game is !!
It made my blood freeze ,especially playing alone ,at night !! I started Rule of Rose ,it is scary ,but I think it's for little children .In all other games the fear is lessened by the fact you have a WEAPON . In Fatal Frames you can only TAKE PICTURES or RUN AWAY !!!

i love horror games..they are my favorite and they don't make them fast enough to suit me! Have you tried the Fatal Frame ones? The are really good and scary. Your only weapon is a cmera and I tell you it is a spooky game!

Survival horror games is the number one on my game list. I really love to play resident evil series and silent hill series, in fact i was a fan of this series. I love it because of the graphics, the story line and the mystery. I also played clocktower and i forgot the title but its about vampires and the protagonist is a detective on a neighboring state. The setting is at the casino and all the guest suddenly became vampires.

I would like to know about the Vampire Casino detective game. I am always looking for new games to spook myself. I am glad I am not the only one who wants to play demented things.. LOL I sometime think at 33 I am to old for this gaming thing but then again maybe I'm not.

I dont think they made FEAR for the PS2 or xbox did they? They gace that good one to the newer systems I think. I want to play, it looks great on the commercials. I dont have newer systems yet they charge to much at release. I wait untill the $$ comes down and the bugs are out.
I will keep this game in mind though.

I did get the Rule of Rose that was recommended in an earlier reply. The game is not as spooky as I would like but I am playing to see where the story line goes. If anyone know keep it a secret I want to see during game play.....
Its different and I have jumped a few times but in general it is somewhat a boring game with lots of walking to find random items with the dog. I do like the story and graphics and the other spooky red crayon kids.

Sadly, many horror games go by undetected. There have been so many gems over the years. The Legacy by Microprose is one of my all-time favourites. Sanitarium is another--if you've ever seen Stephen King's Children of the Corn, this game will stir up some very disturbing images. Oh, let's not forget Interplay's Realms of the Haunting, or Trilobyte's 7th Guest and 11th Hour. Oh, my, I had better stop before my fingers begin to bleed. *grin*

The concept is about ghost and photography.. YOU as the ghost photographer, actually.
