There are lots of different types of "vegetarians" so it depends on your personal beliefs. Standard eggs we by from a store are, obviously, eggs that come out of a chicken. However, they are not fertalized, so they cannot be born. In this sense it is not an animal. However, it still contains animal product. To be crude, I believe eggs are very much like an edible woman's period. They could turn into an animal if it were fertalized. Vegans do not eat eggs or drink milk because it comes from animals.
