INGREDIENTS: 16 ounces pecans or walnut halves 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter 1/2 cup powdered sugar 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger DIRECTIONS: Turn slow cooker to HIGH about 15 minutes in advance. In hot slow cooker, stir together the nuts and butter. Add the powdered sugar, stirring to blend and coat evenly. Cover and cook on HIGH for 15 minutes. Reduce the heat to LOW and remove lid; cook, uncovered, stirring occasionally, for about 2 to 3 hours, or until the nuts are coated with a crisp glaze. Transfer the nuts to a bowl. In another small bowl, combine the spices; sift over the nuts, stirring to coat evenly. Let cool before serving. Enjoy! : )

I don't know how I missed this one! I'm not much of a cook, but I do make candied nuts for my father several times a year, and I actually dread it because it is a hassle keeping an eye on them in the oven and turning them so that they don't burn, etc. I am definitely going to try this; in fact, I am going to get the nuts and the powdered sugar when I shop this week. You just made an 81 year old man very happy! Thanks!

I have made this with walnuts in the crock pot, and it is very good. However, if you are in a rush, it can be done in the frying pan too. I omitted the ginger, and it was great too.

Oh what a good way to make them when it's hot out and you don't want to use the oven. I've passed it on to a few people too. Sounds really good to me. I can't wait to try it. I love pecans and walnuts...lol

Thanks for the recipe. I've never tried baking in my crockpot, I usually only use it to make roast in although I have tried a few other things, never something from the bakery side though. I'll have to give it a try some time :)
