Fisrt off let me offer my sympathy on the loss of your cat. I went through a similar situation with an 8 year old feral cat Smokey 4 years ago that I was able to socialize during the last two years of her life. She became an indoor cat. One day I found drops of blood on the floor and took her in to the vet. Long story short x-ray showed a skull tumor. It had destroyed part of her skull down to the middle of her jaw. I hand fed her for a month and washed her fur with a warm cloth since she could not do this anymore. I stayed in the room when she was put to sleep and have to confess that this was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. I have many other cats I care for but to this day none hae or will ever replace Smokey, the cat I refer to has my feral queen. They are all unique and all hold a different place in our hearts. Not one can ever replace another in our lives.

I bought my dad a boxer when I got my first real job at 16. He had him for 10 years and we had to have him put to sleep 2 years ago because he had cancer. It was so sad because my son was 2 years old at the time and was always asking where "Bubba" was. My dad got another boxer but it just isn't the same. I like his new boxers but still miss his old dog.

I am very sorry dear. I had a siamese cat for 17 1/2 years. We were very bonded. He was had raised as a kitty. I had to put him to sleep, as he too stopped eating, walking, making, and not sleeping with me anymore. I had the vet come to my house, as I didn't want to stress my love any more than necessary. He was put to sleep in my lap while I held him and talked and loved him. This is 14 years ago. I still miss him, and cry for him. I have his pictures out, and his sock for xmas out. It took me 5 years to get another cat, and then another 9 to get one more. But, I still miss my other one. I do hope your pain will ease a little dear. Blessings

I'm sorry to hear about your cat. I had a dog since childhood and he was 18 yrs old. He started going down hill fast, and I knew it was time. It tore me up to do it, but it was for the best. I still cry about him all the time..and it's been a few years now.

My girlfriend had a cat - Pepsi - since she was born. Pepsi had always been part of the family; she wasn't seen as "just a cat". She had to be put down due to a tumor, and she still misses her to this day and there won't ever be another Pepsi but she loved that fat, cute little cat! Pepsi defaintely won't be forgotten; she was her friend when no-one else was around. Sorry about your loss.
