have u ever got interested in the myths surrounding the biblical age? i wud really love to knwo more about the holy grail! most people believe that the grail was the cup which jesus used in his last supper, where he poured the wine in it and gave the first communion to his disciples! its been lost and many a adventurers have been on the mission to locate it, but in vain... this mythical cup is believed to have healing powers... anyone who drinks from it, can be healed, no matter how crucial his condition is!but dan brown, the great author mentions in his controversial book "the da vinci code" that the holy grail is not actually a cup! its not "san- greal" which means holy grail... its actually "sang-real" which means royal blood... it meant the bloodline of jesus, which began from mary magdalene!! it refered to mary magdalene herself!!! so wat do u think? its a mythical cup or a reference to jesus's-believed-to-be-wife or something else? pls give ur viewpoints!

Have you ever read Bernard Cornwell's Quest For the Grail trilogy? There's a very interesting twist at the end. Ok, it's not all fact, but it's based on historical facts, which this author is very clued up on, then he weaves fiction and humour into the historical facts and comes up with some wonderful tales. This particular trilogy, follows the son of a priest, from a village called Hookton, in Dorset. After his father is butchered during a French invasion led by his deported cousin, Thomas of Hookton goes in search of the Grail, because his father professed to have been appointed keeper of the chalice. I won't tell you all the story, but Thomas returned to Hookton at the end of Heretic, the final book in the trilogy. When he returned, he realised what his father thought had been the Grail, and went to the shore and tossed it as far as he could into the sea. A twist indeed. But, I think this was just Bernard Cornwell's way of saying that if the Grail does exist, it is either lost forever or it appeared, in the first place only as a vision. Of course, legend has it that the Grail is buried somewhere under Chalice Well, in Glastonbury, but if it is, nobody ever excavated the site and found it. So... I believe it's all one big myth. :-)

I definitely don't think it's a person... I think it's a mythical sign, possibly a cup, from Arthurian legend, but then, if you're not into Arthurian legend, you wouldn't think that way. Personally, in real life, I think it's some magnetic force... have you never seen the sun shining through the clouds and making strange shapes? This used to happen in days gone as well, and people were much more awestruck, thinking that all these signs from the skies, came from God?

Usually, legends have some truth to them. Dan Brown did make some interesting points in his book. And, since there is Biblical evidence Jesus had a brother, it wouldn't be surprising that he had a wife or even kids.
