I think for me it was the Daleks in Doctor Who, especially as a kid, and yes I did hide behind the sofa!

Nope! My scariest creature is something one can see any day. A spider! the bigger and more hairy...the worse! I have seen some pretty nasty spiders! Even have been to a zoo that had a big spider on display and I didn't know it was there....the only one in a snake exhibit, why a spider there, I don't know...but I turned around and let out a loud squeak. I was so embarrassed to make everyone there look. But I really didn't think to see a spider there! And my family, of course, that it was totally funny. One of those times when you have to ask, Can you feel the love?
What made it totally not expected was the displayer was made to look like a tree from floor to ceiling. There was a smally part cut out for a small glass tank that was lighted. So, when you turned, it was the very large and very hairy spider that you saw. NOT FUNNY! LOL

I think the most scariest creature is Octopus. When it catches the prey with its legs, it looks so fearful

The scariest I ever saw was It, or Pennywise the clown, from Stephen King's IT. I am terrified of clowns and that one in particular was just plain scary. Tim Curry did a great job in the role. The first time I watched it was when it was on TV and I had to watch the second half with the lights on and the wall to my back where I could see the whole area.
