            Are Australian people racist ?
Generally speaking it would appear so,If judging things by a Daily Telegraph poll taken on !8th December, where 95% of those polled agreed with Tamworth [NSW] council's decision to bar five Sudanese refugee families from settling there.
Does anyone else agree with this ?

Well I never! Actually, from my understanding of the matter, the PROBLEM is a racist redneck MAYOR who has forgotten just who it is pays his salary.
And to be sure, Australia certainly has it's share of redneck racists lurking about the place - but probably no more than any other country around the globe.
I would hazard a guess that the Australian community is amongst the most amenable and tolerant societies anywhere on Earth. And I know that the Sudanese refugees are the nicest people anyone could hope to meet - which gives a clue to the general tolerance amongst the wider community, seeing as how so many have seen just how bad it really can get when intolerance reigns supreme.
