Do you think the suspensions Stern handed out were fair? I personally think they were pretty reasonable. He's done a good job trying to clean up the NBA.

I think the suspensions were definitely fair, but I also think there is no way the mentality of the league will ever be cleaned up. The only way to get rid of the fighting would be to get rid of the players. That obviously won't happen, so I think we are all going to have to live with the direction the NBA is taking.

I agree that you can't clean the league up entirely, but I think Stern has taken good measures to make it a little less 'raw' if you will. I mean you still have the Ron Artest's, Steven Jackson's, etc. There are some "thugs" in the league, but if they keep getting severe punishments I think eventually people starting getting the notion that it's serious business. He's already done a good job marketing the game to a wider range of people and really bringing in some good International talent.

I am glad that Carmelo got suspended, who hits and runs away??? freaking wuss. The suspensions are totally fair, what they should do is start giving losses for outrageous fights like this one, and the one that ron artest was in last year. idiots!!!! then steven jackson said that there have been worse fights in baseball and in hockey, and that it was blown out of proportion because they are black!! race card being played like always.

He can play the race card all he wants. The bottom line is that in all sports, there is youth watching, and whether you want to be or not you are a role model in that the youth is going to watch you and do what you do. Tim Duncan may be brutally boring to watch, but at least he stands for things that matter.
