India towards westernization or modernization

What's the condition of India is really confusing whether it's towards westernization or modernization.

Surely our younger generation is confused lot, they don't know the meaning of modernzation and westernization. We are just aping the west. We always think that whatever followed in west is modern, but the fact is that is not.
