How many of you MyLotters are paying exhorbitant property taxes used primarily to fund schools? I believe in educating the little tykes but does that education have to take place in a palace? I just shucked over $17K in taxes on my residence and (particullarly) as I have no children -- I am really pissed. How is it in your neck of the woods? HH

Wow! That is super high! We pay quite a bit as well. I am not exactly sure about how the funds are allocated percentage wise. I do not have any children and if I did they would be attending private school. In this case as usual, people that have more are expected to fill the gap for people that don't. How about considering the education of your children BEFORE you decide to have them? Don't simply rely on the fact that our government believes that your child's education is the responsibility of the taxpayers.

Hmmmm. I guess this could be stated as, "From each according to his ability; to each according to his need." Is that the thought? HH
