The U.S Dollar is thinking whether to Rise or go down?

I heard that the U.S dollar was climbing up. So I thought, since the U.S dollar is on a hike, why not invest some money on it, and see what happens and to my surprise I earned some profits. With that profit I went for some merry Christmas shopping. So friends, yesterday the dollar rose 0.4% against the sterling and 0.1% against the Euro. Like me, many investors enjoyed the profits on the U.S dollar. But that happiness did not remain for long . Since, the U.S dollar was again on the declining side. And in-addition to that, according to BNP Paribas, it is anticipated that the Dollar may drop against the Euro through the end of this month due to a depression in housing data will slow the U.S economy. The U.S economy will be slower than the anticipated slowness in future. The housing data is still going to be on the deteriorating drift. It is estimated that the U.S dollar will decline to $1.3280 per Euro by year-end. And it is also predicted that the Fed will reduce its standard rate to 4.5% in 2007 from 5.25% as its present rate. Let’s see how the capricious markets will show their statistics at the end of this year---

The dollar will drop against the euro through the end of this month as a slump in housing will slow the U.S. economy. The U.S. currency dropped from a 3 week high yesterday after a report showed confidence among U.S. homebuilders deteriorated in December, leading traders to increase bets the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates next year. The dollar was at $1.3097 per euro, the strongest since Nov. 24. It reached a 20-month low of $1.3367 per euro on Dec. 4... Therefore I bet the Fed's next move would be to cut rates before April. Statistics today will show U.S. housing starts slowed last month, disappointing investors expecting a rebound from a 6 year low. As many traders I expect the housing starts to stabilize, but I believe that is unlikely to be the case. I'm very bearish on the U.S. economy. I would say the thing to do now is to sell dollar and start getting some euros, cause latest news are saying OPEC members are going to trade Oil per Euros and then the Dollar is really going to sink... you'll se... If you want to get some more information about currencies and how to make a profit out of recent data, you can visit Gnutrade.com , it only takes to register and then you can access a cool forum and a trading system with a one-of-a-kind system. Hope it does the trick for u!! Cheers!!

from my personal knowledge, the value of USD has already been declining for some time already and i guess it should be time when it will start to pick up again. Maybe not till what it was, but should be slowly climbing, steadily.

Not for a while though, you'd lose before you'd gain.

Well in the future the Euro seems to be the stronger currency to me. Dollar has lost its edge. Now many countries have converted their foreign reserves partially in Euros. Its a good thing in one way. American monoply should end.

Not a good time to invest any money in it, you will lose alot before you gain any, seems you were very lucky. The dollar has been reclining for many months now, which is a pain as I get paid in dollars from alot of jobs, which is squeezing me out from being competitive in the American market because I'll only earn £30 from $60. So I have alot of dollars hanging around waiting to be exhanged when they're 'worthy'.

The national debt of america is around 6% of the BNP. I believe. It's big. The euro is on the rise (Not to my amusement since i must transfer the dollars of myLot and other sites to euros. A painfull proces nowadays). The dollar will be dropping against the euro, because the policy of the european community is economic based. If our economy needs help (so drop the loan rating). The european bank will not cooperate. So europe has gone through an economic recession, which lasted 3 to 4 years. Workpays stayed a 0% in a lot of european countries. So labor has become cheaper. This will pay off, in the next year.

A lower dollar is not great for U.S and for the partners. It makes their goods more expensive in the U.S., and makes their U.S. bonds less valuable, it is overdue and everyone knows it. Even though they know this and for the above reasons, they do not welcome a lower dollar.
